Family sparkling wines, a taste of our land's story

La Tordera is first of all a story of family, land and love of nature.

Our journey began in 1918, among the hills of Cartizze, cradle of our first vineyard. We look to the future without ever forgetting who we are: children of this territory, guardians of an ancient knowledge that is renewed with passion, harvest after harvest.

About us

“We come from the soil and we are still farmers”
We innovate without forgetting our origins that brought us to what we are today, because any progress only makes sense if it is built on the solid foundations of our history. This is why we cultivate consciously and harmoniously every day, always remembering the importance of the land and its rhythms.
La Tordera, however, is much more than a family story: it is an intersection of heads and hearts beating in harmony for a common dream, and of the hard-working hands of people supporting us along this path and who select our wines to give value to moments that remain in time.

A century of passion and commitment

Our origins are the soul of a family history. La Tordera is more than just a name, it is the beating heart of our journey that began in 1918 from an ancient roccolo on the Cartizze hill.

La Tordera is a story of courage and deep roots.
It was 1918, the war was over and the surrounding landscape was marked by poverty and devastation. Many people left Valdobbiadene in search of fortune, while grandfather Giuseppe, who was born here in 1890, chose to stay. He planted a vineyard, unlike any other: not plants that would have become trees, but vines to create well-ordered rows, studying distances and staking. For him, the vine needed time and space to express itself at its best. The years passed, World War II left new scars, but the vineyard survived. Even today, in fact, it preserves more than 130 over-centenarian vines, among the most precious and rare in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG denomination.

The land provides everything: wine, grappa, wood for heating. In the 1960s, while many were leaving the countryside, Pietro invested in Valdobbiadene, transforming abandoned land into prosperous vineyards and becoming one of the pioneers of the best production area of today, the Cartizze hill. In the 1990s, he sensed the climate change and brought viticulture to the plains. Today, La Tordera winery has grown with his sons Paolo and Renato, but one thing has never changed: the passion for Prosecco, handed down by four generations for over a century.

The Family

Today La Tordera is run by Paolo and Renato Vettoretti, with the precious support of their parents Pietro and Mirella. We cultivate 80 hectares of vineyards, each with unique characteristics. This diversity of soils allows us to create wines that express the territory in its purest essence, conveying the uniqueness and beauty of Valdobbiadene in the glass.

PIETRO E MIRELLA

Pietro, a constant guardian of the territory, knows perfectly each vine and each soil. His bond with this land derives from experience, respect and dedication.

Mirella, the welcoming soul of the family, proudly carries on a tradition that has always had passion for the vineyard at its heart.

renato E paolo

Renato, who feels at home among his rows, cares passionately about every working phase in the vineyard, from pruning to harvesting, with an eye always turned to research and evolution.

Paolo, the winemaker and all-round heart of the cellar, turns the grapes' richness into wine, creating elegant and authentic sparkling wines that express the essence of our land.

We believe that quality is a promise: to produce wines that reveal our territory and history, a wine treasure to be preserved with care and love. Our labels convey this identity, by turning every grape into an emotion in the glass.
